What does that even mean? An awesome business coach I worked with challenged me to do this at the beginning of 2024. I loved that idea! I'm not a resolution kinda gal. I have chosen a word of the year for the last decade and sometimes I even have to work on that word for the next year. Last year my word was intention. Was I perfect at living with intention? Nope! But I did remind myself often to slow down and think about it; I like to have a cuff made each year so it makes it a little easier. What is the difference? Intentions are more open-ended and focus on the present, while resolutions are more strict and focused on the future.
Skip the pressure of resolutions! Instead, try setting some easygoing, flexible intentions that feel good to you, here are some great ideas:
“I’m going to treat my body with love and care.”
“I’m ready to welcome joy and abundance into my life.”
“I trust that I’m on the right path, even if I can’t see everything ahead.”
“I’ll keep myself open to new opportunities and experiences.”
“I’m making rest and balance a priority in my daily life.”
“I want to nurture my relationships with kindness and understanding.”
“I’ll honor my creative side and make time to express myself.”
“I’m letting go of what no longer serves me and embracing growth.”
Remember to give yourself grace—every day is a fresh start to move closer to the person you want to be. Write these intentions in your journal or jot them on sticky notes and place them where you’ll see them, like your mirror or desk. Let them gently remind you of the beautiful journey you’re on.
